Desser is a fourth-generation family-run business who have humble beginnings spanning back to WW1. Posted in Belgium Issac Desser came into contact with Flemish craftsmen who were creating different types of basketware. From here Desser grew and developed into a passionate cane furniture manufacturer.

The Desser Dijon Swivel Chair is slightly higher off the ground and offers all the comfort of a normal armchair. Whereas the Desser Corsica Swivel Chair has a circular design with a deeper and lower sit.

Quality Durable Materials

The material used in our swivel rocker chairs is called cane, cane is an extremely durable tropical hardwood. This raw natural material has a fully flexible central core - this means it can easily be manipulated into the shape of a rocker for our swivel rocker chairs.

Cane also has the impressive ability to contract and contrast as the temperature rises and falls. This means that in winter the frame won’t become brittle or snap, making it the perfect choice for conservatory furniture.

Care & Maintenance

Cane conservatory furniture is incredibly easy to maintain and with minimal effort, you can keep it looking like new! When it comes to cleaning your cushion covers always read the manufacturer’s care instructions as the majority of our fabrics are dry clean only. If you’re unsure you can always contact us and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.

Desser offers a fabric called AquaClean - any stains or spills such as wine, ink or food can easily be cleaned with water and a clean cloth. If you have pets, grandchildren or are just prone to be a little messy then AquaClean fabric can put your mind at ease.

When it comes to cleaning the frame it’s best to use as little water as possible. If you want to remove grime you can get a bucket of hot soapy water and use the bubbles to remove any grime. Dust can easily be removed with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner on a low setting. Likewise, if you have any tough-to-reach spots you can use a dry toothbrush to remove dust and dirt. 

Cane furniture is usually placed in a conservatory and these rooms are known for being sun traps. To increase the longevity of your cushions and fabrics you should routinely flip them so that one side isn't more faded than the other. If you have blinds these are a great tool for protecting your furniture. Pulling down your blinds can decrease sun exposure and slow down any fading that can naturally happen over time.
