For many people sustainability is a necessity, Bramblecrest have made remarkable strides in ensuring that outdoor living is not only stylish but also eco-friendly. For over two decades, Bramblecrest has been synonymous with high-quality garden furniture, blending elegance with practicality. But what sets this brand apart is its deep-rooted commitment to sustainability.

Bramblecrest recognises that the choices they make as a business impact not only their customers but also the environment. With this awareness, the company has taken steps to embed sustainability into its everyday operations. This involves everything from sourcing materials to packaging and production processes, all with an eye on reducing environmental impact.

Bramblecrest lays out four clear principles when it comes to sustainability and they are:

• Complying with, and exceeding where possible, all legislative requirements, regulations, and codes of practice relating to sustainability

• Integrating sustainability considerations into all our business decisions

• Making suppliers aware of our Sustainability Policy and encouraging them to act with consideration to the environment

• To review, annually report, and to continually strive to improve our sustainability performance

Sustainably Sourced Teak

One of the most significant ways Bramblecrest is leading the way in sustainability is through its careful selection of teak. The company prioritises using sustainably sourced wood, particularly teak, which is sourced from certified plantations.

Bramblecrest Vilamoura Teak Table

Their Java Teak is sourced from Indonesia, it is fully compliant with the UK Timber Regulation. Ensuring that the timber is imported under the FLEGT (Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade) licensing scheme.

Teak, known for its durability and weather resistance, is a popular choice for outdoor furniture, and Bramblecrest ensures that the wood they use comes from plantations that practise responsible forestry management.

Recyclable Rattan

Bramblecrest uses synthetic rattan to make many of their garden furniture sets. This rattan is made from premium quality recyclable polyethylene. Premium synthetic rattan is extremely durable and will withstand any weather conditions.

Durable Aluminium

Aluminium is used for many Bramblecrest furniture sets and frames, aluminium is 100% recyclable. Not only that but aluminium does not lose quality during the recycling process which is why much of the aluminium ever produced is still in use.

Circular Design

Bramblecrest’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond just using eco-friendly materials. The company embraces the principles of circular design, which focuses on creating products that are designed to last, can be repaired, and eventually recycled. This approach stands in stark contrast to the fast furniture industry, where products are often made cheaply and designed to be disposable.

By creating furniture that is built to last and providing care advice to extend the life of their products, Bramblecrest helps customers make more sustainable choices. Their products are investments in both quality and sustainability.

Thoughtful Packaging

Packaging is a significant contributor to waste, especially in the furniture industry, where large items often require extensive cardboard and plastic packaging.

Recyclable cardboard

Bramblecrest is tackling this issue by reducing the amount of packaging used and opting for recyclable materials wherever possible. Their goal is to minimise single-use plastics and reduce their overall carbon footprint. They are currently working towards making more of their packaging recyclable.

Zero-To-Landfill

Bramblecrest are very proud to be a zero-to-landfill company, meaning they dispose of their waste streams in the most responsible and sustainable way. Waste streams are either confidentially destroyed (shredded and sent off for recycling), recycled into new products or sent off to a waste-to-energy plant to generate electricity – nothing is sent to landfill.

Bramblecrest’s Sustainable Partners

Bramblecrest works alongside Ecologi And Cool Earth in an effort to increase their eco-friendly practices.

Bramblecrest began working with Ecologi in January 2022 and they have pledged to plant a tree for every furniture set that they sell, be it through their site or trade partners like us. They have also agreed to plant trees for sets sold in 2021 to further their commitment to sustainable practices. Through Ecologi they are supporting carbon offset projects and contributing towards a more sustainable environment.

Ecologi

Working alongside Planet Mark, Bramblecrest has been able to protect an area of endangered rainforest thanks to Cool Earth. Cool Earth is a charity working alongside rainforest communities to stop deforestation. Bramblecrest’s pledge through Cool Earth goes directly towards supporting the Asháninka community in Central Peru.

What’s To Come

Bramblecrest aren’t done there, they have set themselves some goals for the future when it comes to sustainability. Take a look at the list below to see what Bramblecrest plan to do in the future as they strive to become more sustainable.
